Das Statement of International Cataloguing Principles soll diese Woche im IFLANET erscheinen.  Übersetzungen in mehrere Sprachen sind in Vorbereitung.

 

Im Meeting Report 2008 der IFLA Cataloguing Section <http://www.ifla.org/VII/s13/meet/CatMinutes08.pdf> steht folgendes:

"The IME-ICC Working Group will be formed in 2009 and hold its first meeting during the IFLA conference in Milan. The WG will be initially chaired by Barbara Tillett, she will also make a suggestion for the charge of the WG. A call for participation will be sent out by the Chair of the SC. The members of the SC accepted this procedure." (S. 28)

 

Das neue italienische Regelwerk wird im August auf dem IFLA-Kongress in Mailand vorgestellt werden.

Was sich mir bisher noch nicht erschlossen hat, ist das enorme Interesse an RDA 

in diesem Forum (gemessen an der Anzahl der Beiträge zu dieser Thematik).

 

1. Warum scheint niemand das Interesse an anderen Katalogregelwerken neben RDA, 

die neu entstanden sind/ entstehen, wecken zu wollen (habe mal eine Notiz über Italien gelesen)?

Für Deutschland unbedeutend?

 

2. Ich weiß, das Statement of International Cataloguing Principles ist eher eine Randerscheinung, 

aber es steht doch in einem Kontext. 

Im Strategic Plan 2007-2009 der IFLA Cataloguing Section heißt es unter Ziele: 

"1.5    In 2008, begin the work of a Working Group on an International Cataloguing Code 

for description and access to create a code for rule-makers.  

Take into account subject cataloguing as relevant.  

Collaborate with the Bibliography Section, the Classification and Indexing Section, and other sections as appropriate.  

Include review of existing and recently updated codes."

Wäre doch mal interessant, wenn mal jemand darüber was schreiben würde, 

bzw. wie derartige Bestrebungen von Ihnen als Katalogisierungspraktiker bewertet werden. 

Läuft da überhaupt schon etwas (das endgültige offizielle Statement of ..., das Ende vergangenen Jahres 

erscheinen sollte, lässt ja auch noch auf sich warten)?
