Dear colleagues,

I will join you tomorrow via zoom after lunch, since I am in New Orleans at the moment for a research stay.

As for the Agenda before lunch, Papers 1-5:

I have no comments to the minutes and budget, which I approve and thank the secretariat for their excellent work.
Paper 5: I follow the rec of the secretariat to finish the Covid Fund per end of the year. I am in favor of continuing the Hidden Stories Fund but would go with a joint decision of colleague.
New Funds for Endangered Cultural Heritage:
I appreciate the thoughts and reflections of the colleagues from the secretariat and think that it would be too early to take a decision, since there are too many open questions.

For me it is not clear how to define Endangered Cultural Heritage and to find the criteria for evaluation.
The case of war (as we have it in the Ukraine) could be seen as Force Majeure (as other unexpected catastrophes (earthquake, water, fire or other unexpected events). While I could see much sense in having a Fund that could be used in case of emergency, I do not see this as a case for an annual Fund.

My rec would be to install a task force (a small group of 5-7 members) and ask other CENL members to participate and to work out a recommendation.
