Dear Ivanka,
I received the same invitation last year and I planned to go (and to give a presentation), but I got covid a few days before the summit so I had to cancel the trip. I must admit that I had a bit the same questions as you have, but finally the programme was rather interesting so I thought it would be worth it. Some colleagues, but I can’t remember who unfortunately, told me that they went and that it was ok.
This is all the information I have for you. I might go this year, but I have to check a few things before I can confirm. I’ll keep you posted.

Dear CENL EC members, Dear colleagues,
After coming back from IFLA-Dublin I found in my papers an inivitaion to the 2nd National Libraries Summit in United Arab Emirates (Sharjah, Dubai) in November 2022. According to that announcement Sharjah International Book Fair is the main organizer, and ALA and IFLA are the co-organizers.
Do you know anything about this event? Is it worth of attention and authentic? They cover registration and local travel and accommodation costs.
