Hallo liebe Coding da Vinci-Community,
am 10. und 11. Oktober 2023 findet auf PACT Zollverein in Essen der Kultur Digital Kongress der Kulturstiftung des Bundes statt, bei dem wir auch über das Coding da Vinci Playbook und eure Erfahrungen sprechen wollen. Wir laden Euch herzlich dazu ein!

Zum digitalen Wandel in Kultur und Öffentlichkeit
Der Kongress präsentiert Ergebnisse und Erkenntnisse aus vier Jahren Förderung im Programm Kultur Digital und denkt diese weiter. Welche aktuellen Themen und Entwicklungen beschäftigen Museen, Gedenkstätten, Opernhäuser, Theater und internationale Produktionshäuser, welche Empfehlungen haben sie für künftige Transformationsprozesse?

Wir betrachten die Erfahrungen der geförderten Häuser vor dem Horizont einer sich radikal wandelnden Öffentlichkeit: Digitale Medien ermöglichen neue Formen der Teilhabe, lassen aber auch Differenzen und Ausschlüsse erkennbar werden. Wie finden Kultureinrichtungen zwischen Vermittlung und Beteiligung ein neues Verhältnis zu einem immer stärker pluralisierten Publikum? Wie können sie dazu beitragen, kulturelle Konflikte und virulente gesellschaftliche Themen für die Öffentlichkeit produktiv zu machen? Welche Rolle spielt die Digitalisierung von Sammlungen und Archiven für kollektive Gedächtnisse und Narrative? Welche neuen Arbeitsweisen und digitalen Kompetenzen unterstützen Wandel und soziale Innovation? Was können gemeinwohlorientierte Algorithmen leisten?

Diesen und weiteren Fragen widmet sich unser Kongress, mit dem das Programm Kultur Digital zu Ende geht. In Harvest Houses, Workshops, Vorträgen und Panels möchten wir gemeinsam mit Ihnen, Künstler:innen und Expert:innen diskutieren.

Der Kongress steht allen offen und richtet sich insbesondere an Kultureinrichtungen, die den Wandel voranbringen und Digitalität in die Zukunft denken wollen.

Save the Date!
Congress on Digital Culture
Digital transformation in culture and the public sphere
We cordially welcome you to our upcoming Congress on Digital Culture on 10 and 11 October 2023 at the PACT Zollverein in Essen!
The congress will present the results and experience gained from four years of funding through the Digital Culture programme and explore how these can inform future measures. What themes and developments are currently of interest to museums, commemorative sites, opera houses, theatres and international production spaces? What recommendations do they have for future processes of transformation?

We view the experiences of the funded institutions against a backdrop of a radically changing public sphere. Although digital media has made new forms of participation possible, it has also accentuated differences and systemic forms of exclusion. What kind of educational and participative measures can cultural institutions use to forge a new relationship to an increasingly pluralised audience? How can they make use of the cultural conflicts and virulent topics of today to contribute productively to public discourse? What role does digitalisation of collections and archives play in collective memories and narratives? What new working methods and forms of digital competence support change and social innovation? What are algorithms capable of achieving for the common good?

These and other questions will be the focus of our congress which shall conclude the Digital Culture Programme. We invite you to explore these questions with us and invited artists, experts and many others in "Harvest Houses", workshops, lectures and panels.

The congress is open to everyone but is especially targeted at the staff and management teams of cultural institutions which are driving transformation and digitality.
