[OAI-Schnittstelle] Anreicherung von älteren DNB- und ZDB-Titeldaten mit Schlagwörtern der Gemeinsamen Normdatei (GND) // Enriching older DNB and ZDB title records with subject headings from the Integrated Authority File (GND)

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

ab 7. August 2023 werden innerhalb der folgenden drei Wochen ca. 770.000 Titeldaten, davon ca. 15.000 Titeldaten der Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB), mit Schlagwörtern der Gemeinsamen Normdatei (GND) angereichert.

Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek hat eine lange Tradition der verbalen Inhaltserschließung, die aber anfangs noch nicht mit Normdaten erfolgte. Diese älteren Titeldaten mit verbaler inhaltlicher Erschließung aber ohne GND-Normdaten gemäß den Regeln für die Schlagwortkatalogisierung (RSWK) [1] werden nun mittels einer umfangreichen Konkordanz mit Schlagwörtern aus der GND sowie ggf. nötigen Zeitschlagwörtern ergänzt. Für ca. 10 % der damals vergebenen Schlagwörter konnte keine Entsprechung in der GND gefunden werden.

Die aktualisierten Titeldaten können mittels der OAI-Schnittstelle [2] im Format MARC21-xml oder im nächsten Titeldaten-Gesamtabzug der DNB bzw. ZDB [3] im Oktober/November 2023 im Format MARC 21 oder MARC21-xml bezogen werden.
Bis Ende November 2023 ist eine Liste nur mit Identifkationsnummer (IDN) der aktualisierten Titeldaten verfügbar [4].

Im Titeldatensatz erfolgt die Auslieferung der GND-Schlagwörter in den bekannten MARC-Feldern 600 bis 651 (Felder für den Schlagworteinstieg) und mit „$2gnd“ gekennzeichnet. Es erfolgt keine zusätzliche Auslieferung als RSWK-Schlagwortfolge in MARC-Feld 689.
Eine entsprechende Kennzeichnung mit dem Code „kasw“ (Konkordanz alte Schlagwörter) wird in dem jeweils korrespondierendem MARC-Feld 883 (Herkunft der Metadaten), Unterfeld $a (Generierungsprozess) mitgeliefert. Die zugrundeliegenden älteren Schlagwort-Indexate werden mit „$2local“ gekennzeichnet und unverändert ebenfalls in den bekannten MARC-Feldern 600 bis 651 ausgeliefert.

Expected from 7 August 2023 within the following three weeks, approx. 770,000 bibliographic records, including 15,000 bibliographic records from the German Union Catalogue of Serials (ZDB) will be enriched with subject headings from the Integrated Authority File (GND).

The German National Library has a long tradition of cataloguing by subject headings, but initially this did not include the use of authority data. These older bibliographic records which include subject headings but without standardised GND authority data according to the German rules for cataloguing by subject headings (RSWK) [1] will now be expanded by means of a comprehensive concordance with subject headings from the GND and if necessary time keywords. It was not possible to identify a corresponding term within the GND for approx. 10 % of the subject headings which were initially assigned.

The updated bibliographic records will be delivered via the OAI interface [2] in the MARC21-xml format. They will also be available in MARC 21 and MARC21-xml formats in the next full copy of bibliographic data from the DNB resp. ZDB [3], which will be published in October/November 2023. Until the end of November 2023, a list only containing the identification number (IDN) of the updated bibliographic records will be available [4].

GND subject headings will be added to the title records in the usual 600-651 MARC fields for subject added entries and marked as "$2gnd". No additional RSWK subject heading sequence will be added to MARC field 689.
A corresponding label code "kasw" (i.e. Konkordanz alte Schlagwörter – concordance of old subject headings) will be added to the associated MARC field 883 (metadata provenance), subfield $a (creation process). The underlying older subject heading entries will be labelled "$2local" and will be added unchanged to the usual MARC fields 600–651.
